ทาเลียพบว่าเธอไม่สามารถอยู่ห่างๆจากผู้ชายอย่างซาลได้ เธออาบน้ำให้เขา ดูแลเขา จนกระทั่งซาลค่อยๆดีขึ้นจากยาที่เขาได้รับมาตลอดหลายปีเพื่อให้ช่วยฟังและกระหายเลือด ซาลไม่เคยพบผู้หญิงคนไหนที่ดูแลใส่ใจเขาอย่างทาเลีย เมื่อเธอพาเขาออกไปจากความมืดมิดที่เขาอาศัยอยู่มาเกือบทั้งชีวิต ครั้งแรกที่ซาลเห็นแสงตะวันนั้นทำให้เขาเชื่อว่าในที่สุดเขาก็เป็นอิสระจากนายเหนือหัวแล้วจริงๆ
